About our TPU surface coating
Most of our waterproof backpacks use TPU surface-coated polyester — TPU bonded to the outer face of the fabric, not laminated inside. This gives a smooth, scratch-resistant exterior plus full waterproofing that holds up through years of daily use. It's a higher-grade construction than typical inside-coated fabrics, and it's standard on every TPU backpack we ship.
